Hanoi is Vietnam at its most exotic, arguably the best place in the country to enjoy street food and to learn more about its culture and ancient history!

On arrival to Hanoi, you’ll have the afternoon free. You could visit the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and take some stunning photos.

The next day, you’ll go on the Village Discovery by bike afternoon tour. You will leave the city and explore the nearby villages and crafts on a bike. You will cycle through the winding roads of the Old Quarter and cross the oldest bridge in Hanoi, The Long Bien. You’ll also interact with some of the villagers along your journey and make quick stops at a banana and vegetable farm, a pottery village, beautiful floating villages and colourful flower farms next to a river. Your last stop will be at the West Lake where you can relax with a cup of coffee or green tea while waiting for the sun to set over the lake.

At night, you will catch a Water Puppet Show at the famous Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre. This unique puppet show is performed in water, where hidden puppeteers stand waist-deep in a pool of water and move the dancing puppets attached to bamboo poles on the water’s surface. Watching this show will give you more of an understanding of Vietnam’s folk tales, legends, ancient village life and agricultural harvests. After the show, you will have dinner at a local restaurant before heading back.

The following night, you will set off to try Hanoi Street Food. You will wander around and try various types of tasty Vietnamese food and desserts and get an inside scoop of the intricacies of Vietnamese culture.

The last day is a free day. You can choose to explore more of the city on your own.
