Kuala Lumpur, with its mix of cross-cultural influences and traditions, varied cuisine, lively nightlife and fascinating art will no doubt pique your interest throughout your stay.

Your first afternoon on arrival to Kuala Lumpur is free to explore. Perhaps head on over to Aquaria KLCC and see the amazing array of fascinating underwater creatures.

The next day, you’ll set off on a morning shared city tour. You’ll visit the Petronas Twin Towers and see the majestic Istana Negara. You will also stop by the National Monument, the Tugu Negara. Next, you’ll pass by the National Museum and the impressive National Mosque with its unusual and modern 16-pointed star shaped turquoise roof. You’ll drive by Merdeka Square, the place where the Malaysian flag was hoisted for the first time in 1957. You’ll also have the chance to pick up some Malaysian souvenirs at the Karyaneka Handicraft Centre, before heading back to your accommodation.

In the afternoon, you’ll go on the Handicrafts and Batu Caves tour. On this half day shared tour, you’ll head to Royal Selangor, the world’s largest pewter maker. Here you can choose to go on a tour of the factory to see how the intricate pewter work is made and learn more about the metal. From here you’ll visit a Batik manufacturer, where if you’re lucky you’ll get to see how the batik is created and have the chance to buy some batik goods for yourselves. Finally, you’ll reach Batu Caves, one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India. Take the time to climb up a flight of 272 steps and enter the beautiful caves and you’ll understand just why believers went to all the trouble of creating a temple 100m above the ground!

The following evening, you’ll join the discover the best local food tour, where you’ll get to try delicious Malaysian food from Hutong Food Court, Jalan Alor and SK Corner.

Your last day in Kuala Lumpur is free. You can choose to explore more of the city on your own or get ready for your trip back home.
